Stutzle was taken off of the ice and Xhekaj was thrown out of the game. This happened just a few days after Xhekaj was fined for what he did to Cedric Pare of the Toronto Maple Leafs. It was a reckless hit and was another example of Xhekaj being a bit too overzealous with his tough guy approach to the game.
Following the hit, fans were expecting some sort of disciplinary action. After all, Xhekaj just got fined for beating someone up. You would assume that the league would try to make an example out of the player since he did something arguably worse, just a couple of days later.
Well, you will be shocked to know that it would appear as though absolutely nothing is going to be coming of this. According to Eric Engels, no supplemental discipline is going to be coming out of last night's game, which was filled to the brim with antics.
If you are a Senators fan, this is incredibly frustrating. If you are a Habs fan, this is music to your ears, Either way, a lot is going to be said about his, moving forward.
