Negotiations for a new contract between Tyler Bertuzzi and the Toronto Maple Leafs have reportedly begun, according to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period. If a deal is reached, it's unknown what the terms may be, but Bertuzzi would undoubtedly prefer a multi-year agreement to provide himself some stability.
If the Toronto Maple Leafs are able to finalize a deal with an average annual worth of $5$5.5 million, then AFP Analytics, who specialize in player valuation, thinks it would be a wise addition.
Bertuzzi, a native of Sudbury, Ontario, appeared in 80 games during the regular season for the Maple Leafs where he put up 43 points (21 goals, 22 assists), 53 penalty minutes and was a plus-two. He went on to add four points in seven games during the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
