Darren Dreger states the future of John Tortorella
The Philadelphia Flyers suffered their worst loss of the season when they went down 9-3 against the lowly Montreal Canadiens. This loss has sent the Flyers back on their heels and continues to erode their playoff hopes. After the game, several fans and pundits predicted the end of head coach John Tortorella's tenure in Philadelphia. TSN insider Darren Dreger stated that Tortorella will not be going anywhere.
It became clear that the Flyers management team still has plenty of confidence in Tortorella's ability to coach in the NHL. The Flyers were in the third spot in the metro division for the bulk of this season. Up until recently, the team looked in control and heading to an unlikely playoff berth.
But it appears the team is either run out of gas or suffered some of the worst luck in history Anne appears to be on the outside looking in.
We can all appreciate the speculation. And when it comes to John Tortorella and the stories that follow, there's always speculation. As for his future as head coacha Flyers management source says «Torts is not leaving the bench». He still has the fireno question about that.
Torts looked exasperated as he explained where he saw his team after such a terrible loss.
With three games remaining and the Flyers at 83 points, there's still a chance the team can get in the playoffs however they will need some luck on their side as the Capitals, Penguins and Islanders are all looking to lock up their spots.
