The New York Rangers are on the struggle bus right now, and this news only sets them back even more.
Filip Chytil suffered a concussion on November 2nd. He came back yesterday for practice, and was skating and dangling well. Shortly later that AM, he was in a contact drill with Jake Leschyshyn. He eventually fell down on the ice and needed to be helped off. It was likely due to the concussion he suffered.
Peter Laviolette, the New York Rangers Head Coach, stated that he was hoping to get him more involved. Of course, after this, that won't be happening, as he is back at his home in New York.
Filip Chytil is only 24 years old and has suffered multiple concussions. It has been put out there that the young man may need to retire for his health and safety.
It will suck retiring at the age of 24, but if it's for his health, he'll have to do it. Hopefully, it doesn't come down to that and he gets back on the ice. However, if it does, there is absolutely no shame in that.
