The PWHL Hands Out First Suspension In The League's History
Taylor Wenczkowsk is etching her name into the history of women's hockey, though perhaps not in the way she would have preferred.
Over the weekend, the newly established Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) made headlines by announcing its first-ever suspension. Boston's Wenczkowski earned this dubious honor for a hit on Ottawa's Amanda Boulier that clearly went high.
This suspension mirrors the kind you'd see in the National Hockey League (NHL) for a similar hit, marking a significant moment in PWHL history. While Wenczkowski bears the unfortunate distinction of being the first, it's likely she won't be the last.
