Colorado Avalanche Goalie Displays Massive Frustration After OT loss
With only 4 minutes left in the second period, the Colorado Avalanche seemed to have a comfortable 4-0 lead over the Arizona Coyotes, and many thought the game was practically sealed for the Avalanche. But that wasn't the case.
At 16:31 of the second period, Lawson Crouse provided a glimmer of hope for the Coyotes, giving them a much-needed boost as they headed into the locker room. The Coyotes capitalized on that momentum, staging an impressive comeback to tie the game at 4, ultimately securing the win in overtime.
The entire Avalanche team expressed disappointment over the loss, but no one took it harder than Alex Georgiev, who had a challenging night. Georgiev allowed 5 goals on just 27 shots, ending the game with a .815 save percentage. His frustration was evident, especially after letting in the overtime winner.
After 28 games, Georgiev holds a .897 save percentage and a 3.00 goals-against average. It's apparent that the Avalanche will need more from their goaltender if they hope to end the season on a positive note.
