Blackhawks Waste No Time And Acquire Stanley Cup Champion To Replace Connor Bedard
The Blackhawks added some extra firepower up front today, securing winger Rem Pitlick from Pittsburgh in exchange for a conditional 2026 seventh-round pick.
This marks the second forward acquisition of the day for the Blackhawks, aiming to bolster their lineup with Connor Bedard sidelined. In this move, they bring in Stanley Cup Champion.
In a timely move, the Chicago Blackhawks have claimed Zach Sanford, likely considering their injury troubles.
In his recent stint with the Coyotes, Sanford made his mark in 11 games, including the latest against the New York Islanders. Mostly on the fourth line, he contributed two points, eight blocked shots, and four hits. Despite averaging 9 minutes and 15 seconds of ice time per game this season, he didn't see action on any special teams.
At 29, Sanford boasts 316 NHL games and was part of the St. Louis Blues Stanley Cup-winning team. Recognized for his scoring prowess, he achieved a career-best of 16 goals and 30 points. Despite his success, he's changed teams in recent years.
Sanford comes with a manageable $800k cap hit.
