Reports from Columbus indicate that the Blue Jackets and Buffalo Sabres are finalizing a trade, with 28-year-old forward Eric Robinson heading to Buffalo.

"Per multiple reports, Columbus is trading Eric Robinson to the Buffalo Sabres. Stay tuned for more details."

Details on what Buffalo will send in return remain unclear at this time, but early speculation suggests it might be a mid-round draft pick.

Robinson, who split time between the Blue Jackets and their AHL affiliate, the Cleveland Monsters, has had a mixed season. In seven games with the Blue Jackets, he notched one goal. Meanwhile, in nine games for the Monsters, the Bellmawr, New Jersey native accumulated four points (one goal, three assists).

In a related note, there are hints from sources, such as Brian Hedger, that Blue Jackets forward Emil Bemstrom, currently in the AHL, is seeking a change of scenery. While it's uncertain if he'll be part of the deal with Buffalo, the possibility adds an extra layer of intrigue.

"Sources have told the Dispatch that Bemstrom, who's racking up points for the Monsters after stalling out again with the Blue Jackets, is hopeful of moving elsewhere with a 'change of scenery' trade."

Stay tuned for more updates as the trade details unfold.
