Mike Hoffman has been looking for a new NHL home for a while now and it appears as though he has finally found one.

After spending last season with the San Jose Sharks, Hoffman was without a new team. Well, the Edmonton Oilers just extended the 34-year-old an offer. As you can see down below, this is going to be a PTO. Essentially, there are no guarantees as it pertains to his contract.
Hoffman knows how to score goals. He has 228 goals & 259 assists in his career, which is pretty impressive. The Oilers are not a team in desperate need of more goal-scoring, but some extra fire power can never hurt.
Having said that, it seems as though fans are a bit torn on this signing. After all, Hoffman has had some real problems in the locker room in the past with the Ottawa Senators. That makes his signing a massive risk, and the Oilers faithful understand that completely. Not to mention, Hoffman is an aging guy and isn't exactly the future of the franchise.
Do you believe that this is a good signing for the Edmonton Oilers? Let us know in the poll down below and stay tuned to Hockey Unplugged for the latest news and updates from around the hockey world.
