Vegas Golden Knights player requests a trade just months after Cup victory
When it comes to hockey players they're a very proud bunch. So much so that for one member of the Vegas Golden Knights, not even winning the Stanley Cup appears to be enough to keep him in Vegas. After losing his starting job to Adin Hill, it now appears Logan Thompson is dead set on getting back into the starters net one way or another.
According to Eklund of Hockey Buzz, it appears that Thompson has requested a trade out Vegas in hopes of landing a better opportunity elsewhere.
Thompson, 26, was limited to just 37 games for the Golden Knights last season due to injury. He posted a record of 21-13-3 with a 2.65 goals against average and a .915 save percentage. However, he dealt with multiple injuries last year, which forced him to miss the playoffs after re-aggravating an existing injury on March 23.
Thompson is reportedly looking for a fresh start and a place where he can potentially play major minutes. The 26-year-old showed flashes of brilliance last year and could benefit from an opportunity where he could play regularly.
