Trouble brewed in a recent Major Junior hockey match when a player crossed a line, resulting in an indefinite suspension.

The incident unfolded during an OHL game earlier this week when Niagara IceDogs player Alex Assadourian received a two-minute penalty for cross-checking.

However, things took a darker turn when, in the penalty box, Assadourian escalated matters by making a threat and a throat slash motion towards an opponent.

Despite the severity of the actions, Assadourian only received a 2-minute minor for the cross-check. The aftermath, however, saw him slapped with an indefinite suspension. A social media post captured the moment, stating,

«The only penalty he got was a 2 minute minor for cross checking in the 3rd. But then in the box he says 'you're f**king dead' with a throat slash to McNamara. So I guess that's what the indefinite suspension is for #OHL.»

Presently, there's been no appeal for the suspension, and neither Assadourian nor the IceDogs have provided any explanation for his aggressive reaction.

If Assadourian ends up sidelined for a substantial part of the season, he may explore options in a different hockey league. While some players have taken this route in the past, it remains uncertain how Assadourian will navigate the situation.

As the story develops, updates on the suspension's length or any decisions from Alex Assadourian will be shared.
