London Police and the NHL provide an update on Hockey Canada investigation as rumors 5 players will be suspended continue
In August NHL Insider, Andy Strickland shared news that he was told 5 players were expected to be suspended as part of the Hockey Canada investigation. Strickland shared that at least 1 of these players was considered to be a prominent player. Unfortunately for everyone involved, no additional information has surfaced at this time.
In the last 24-hours multiple NHL players linked to the investigation have started to change their social media settings to private. While this is definitely not an admission of guilt, the court of public opinion has already deemed them guilty.
Instead of making assumptions, Katie Strang from The Athletic reached out to both the London Police and National Hockey League in hopes of receiving an update.
According to London Police spokesperson reached this morning, the investigation into 2018 WJC sexual assault allegations remains «active and ongoing»
Reached out to NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly on the league's probe into the matter this morning. He said there is "nothing new to report."
At this time it appears the entire situation remains status quo and like there may be no end in sight of the investigation.
