Some NHL players have a reputation of being ladies men. That was certainly the case for former player turned Podcast host Shane O'Brien.

On a recent episode of the Missin' Curfew podcast, Shane O'Brien shared from hia time with the Vancouver Canucks. While the Canucks faced off against the the Calgary Flames, the Canucks were up 3-0. During a TV timeout one of the females on the Flames' Ice Crew caught O'Brien's attention.
O'Brien decided it was time to make his move and approached her to make plans for after the game.
"It was retro night at the Saddledome,» O'Brien explained during the latest episode of the Missin' Curfew podcast. «I jump out for the TV timeout, and she's scraping the ice, and I come over and say, Hey hey, we're staying the night, are you gonna go to Cowboys?' She said, Yeah, I'll be at Cowboys after.' I said, Okay, I'll meet you there.' Whatever. Good.»

O'Brien's reminisced that his coach at the time Alain Vigneault, somehow caught wind of what he was doing.
"I skate back, and as I skate back, AV obviously had the iso-cam on me and he's like, OB, keep your f*cking head in the game!' And I'm like, Yeah, I got it.' And he's like, Are you f*cking serious? Let's go here."

O'Brien got a little nervous late in the game as the Flames cut the lead to 3-2.
"Now I'm worried,» O'Brien said. «I'm like if we lose this game, and I went over the ice girl [when we were winning]'»

Luckily the Canucks, led by the Sedin twins Henrik and Daniel came up big late in the game to give Vancouver the win.
"I met her out at Cowboys, and the rest is history.»
A successful night complete for O'Brien and the Canucks.
