Evander Kane provides important update on his health ahead of training camp
Following a gruesome injury that left him in need of emergency surgery last season, Evander Kane was limited to just 41 games with the Edmonton Oilers following a wrist laceration after being stepped on during a game. The injury forced him to miss half of the 2022-23 season.
Following the injury, nobody was really sure what the long-term effects of Kane's injury would be. According to Oilersnation.com, Kane was able to provide an update on his surgically repaired wrist.
"There's still some numbness and all, but I have full mobility. I feel good on the ice." - Kane on his surgically repaired wrist
Kane is lucky to be alive after suffering such a serious injury. The fact that he's feeling good and that some numbness local to the area seems to be the only drawback is pretty incredible.
Kane, 32, was having a decent, if unspectacular, season before suffering the laceration, scoring 16 goals and adding 12 assists for 28 points, but was key top 6 forward. Just one year prior, he had registered 39 points in 43 games in Edmonton, which included 22 goals.
The Vancouver native is expected to be ready to be a full participant in Oilers training camp in a couple of weeks.
