Connor Bedard's bonuses revealed, could see him become highest paid rookie in NHL history
On July 17th, on his birthday Connor Bedard officially signed his entry-level contract with the Chicago Blackhawks. As expected the deal saw Bedard paid the maximum salary of $950,000 and was accompanied by max bonuses.
Details have now emerged revealing how much more that Bedard could make if he achieves those bonuses. If Bedard hits a certain amount of targets and wins certain awards, he could earn up to $13M over the term of his three year entry level deal.
Bedard is considered one of the highest-touted prospects to enter the league since Connor McDavid. Hitting all of his bonuses be a lofty task for anyone but is certainly something Bedard is capable of doing. Bedard has excelled at every level of hockey he has ever played and there is very little that makes anyone believe the NHL will be any different.
