Just a week after signing with the Arizona Coyotes' Alex Galchenyuk was arrested and faced a total of 6 charges stemming from an arrest in Scottsdale, Arizona. Luckily for Galchenyuk he was able to sign a very favorable plea deal which saw 5 of the 6 charges dismissed.

Today Galchenyuk pled guilty to one misdemeanor charges of threatening. This charge comes with 30 days jail time, of which Galchenyuk has already served 3 days credit for time served. Galchenyuk while have the additional 27 days suspended if he's able to complete a program and remain alcohol free for 1 year.
Katie Strang from The Athletic provided the following notes.
According to sentencing documents, five of the charges against Alex Galchenyuk were dismissed; he pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor threatening charge.

According to those documents, Galchenyuk was sentenced to 30 days of jail time, one of which counts as time served and 27 of which will be suspended upon successful completion of an alcohol recovery program and 12 months without consuming/possessing alcohol.

Last month, Galchenyuk publicly apologized and announced that he was entering the NHL/NHLPA player assistance program
It has been reported that Galchenyuk is going to be signing a deal in the KHL for next year and there is no information on how this conviction may impact that. Hopefully Alex gets the help he needs and is able to get his life and career back on track.
