The Winnipeg Jets are facing off against the Pittsburgh Penguins in their first game back since the NHL All-Star break. In a concerning turn of events during the second period, Jets defenseman Brenden Dillon delivered a devastating hit to Noel Acciari, resulting in a match penalty.

Dillon Faces Suspension After Dangerous Hit

Brenden Dillon caused quite a stir with his hit to the head on Noel Acciari, a move deemed illegal and unacceptable in today's game. Hits like these pose serious risks to players' safety and warrant appropriate disciplinary action.

Unfortunately, Acciari was forced to exit the game following the hit.

The Penguins currently hold a 3-0 lead after two periods, with goals from Jeff Carter, Bryan Rust, and Kristopher Letang.

Dillon's History of Suspensions

This isn't the first time Dillon has faced disciplinary action from the NHL Player Safety Association. Previously, on December 5th, 2017, he was suspended for one game for a brutal slash on Capitals defenseman Madison Bowey while playing for the Dallas Stars.

Given Dillon's previous suspensions this season and his repeat offenses, it's likely he'll face more than just a one-game suspension for his hit on the Penguins forward.
