Lightnings Star Player Suffers A Brutal Injury After Returning From LTIR
The Tampa Bay Lightning faced off against the New York Rangers on Wednesday evening, and the game took a grim turn when defenseman Mikhail Sergachev suffered a brutal injury after Jimmy Vesey scored to make it 1-0.
Sergachev's Unfortunate Injury
It was Sergachev's first game back since being on LTIR for over a month due to injury, but unfortunately, he was injured again just one period into the game.
The injury occurred during a board battle when Alexis Lafreniere delivered a reverse hit, causing Sergachev's left leg to become trapped and resulting in a significant injury.
The Lightning defenseman had to be stretchered off the ice, clearly in immense pain.
It's a tough break for the talented defenseman, and we send him our best wishes for a speedy recovery.
