Oilers Star Faces A Serious Injury Leaving Him Absent During Tonight's Game
The Edmonton Oilers faced a notable shake-up in their lineup today.
Oilers insider Mark Spector shared earlier that sources were indicating a potential groin injury for Evander Kane, a piece of information that now seems to be confirmed.
Kane's absence was evident as he wasn't on the ice for warmups before tonight's game. National Hockey League insider Elliotte Friedman further solidified the news, reporting that Kane would be sidelined this evening due to injury.
In anticipation of this change, the Oilers had called up Raphael Lavoie earlier in the day, a move that appears to be a strategic decision to have him step into the lineup as a replacement for Kane.
The revised Oilers lineup, sans Kane, now looks like this:
