Things took a turn for the worse in a recent Czech Junior League game, resembling Marty McSorley's infamous incident. The match escalated when a player took a page from McSorley's playbook and delivered a dangerous slash to an opponent's head while attempting to score on an empty net.

In the late moments of the third period, the team donned in gold and black held a 2-0 lead. The blue team pulled their goalie, aiming to stage a comeback in the final seconds. However, chaos ensued when a player from the gold team found himself on a breakaway with the net wide open.

Instead of allowing the straightforward goal, an opponent resorted to a two-handed slash to the head/neck region, followed by another across the legs before the player went down. Fortunately, officials intervened before the situation escalated further.

There's no justification for such actions, and the consequences are yet to be determined. Speculation is rife that the slasher might face a permanent ejection from the league, a fitting response to such unsportsmanlike behavior.
