Toronto Maple Leafs goalie hit with devastating fate amid injury issues

Throughout training camp, Murray was mostly absent and it caused a lot of concern amongst fans. While the Leafs do have a ton of other goalies that they can rely on, the Murray situation has remained fairly frustrating. In fact, there has been a huge development today that some fans could describe as quite devastating and even a wake-up call of sorts.

According to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, Murray has officially been placed on waivers. However, there is at least some kind of good news here for Murray. It is being said that the Leafs hope he clears and that they want him to come back.

Only time will tell whether or not Murray and the Leafs are able to stay together moving forward. However, if the Leafs get some amazing goaltending to start the season, Murray's status with the team may change. No matter what, this is not the situation any goaltender wants to be involved in. Only time will tell what happens next.
