Bruce Boudreau goes scorched earth on Rutger McGroarty

Bruce Boudreau is someone who does not shy away from giving his true thoughts on something, and that was especially true when he weighed in on the Rutger McGroarty trade.

McGroarty was traded from the Winnipeg Jets to the Pittsburgh Penguins this week. This comes amid reports that he told the Jets that he not feel right putting their jersey on. It was a remark that has ultimately angered fans of the Jets franchise. Meanwhile, Boudreau is angered by the way McGroarty felt entitled to a spot on the Jets roster.

In the comments down below, Boudreau did not hold back from going scorched earth on the University of Michigan standout.

"It drives me nuts, you want to go out there and punch him in the head to be honest, because listen how can we like I mean you went through it, I went through it, all the older guys have gone through it, you got to come and make the team, you can't be given the spot right away," he said. "I was reading that about McGroarty today that they wouldn't guarantee, Winnipeg wouldn't guarantee him a spot at the start of the season and that's one of the reasons he wanted to get traded, it's it just drives me crazy, I just think you have to earn your earn your spot...You have to go in there and earn a spot rather than come in and have the spot already there."

Boudreau did not mince words whatsoever. Now, however, McGroarty will have an opportunity to show the hockey world what he can do with a legendary franchise like the Penguins. Only time will tell whether or not they end up regretting this trade.
