Philadelphia Flyers forward Garnet Hathaway faced a fine from the National Hockey League on Friday afternoon.

The NHL Public Relations account shared the news, revealing that Hathaway received a $2,000 fine for diving during a game against the Boston Bruins on March 23rd.

"Philadelphia Flyers forward Garnet Hathaway has been fined $2,000 as supplementary discipline under NHL Rule 64 (Diving/Embellishment), the National Hockey League announced today."

The incident occurred in the third period of last Saturday's game, with Hathaway tumbling to the ice after a tussle with Andrew Peeke, following a save by Boston Bruins goaltender Linus Ullmark. No penalty was issued by the officials.

This marks Hathaway's second citation for diving/embellishment this season. The NHL typically issues warnings before fines, with the first fine at $2,000, escalating for subsequent offenses. Repeat offenses could lead to heavier fines for both the player and the team's head coach.

Hathaway will likely tread more cautiously in the future to avoid further penalties and keep his wallet intact.
