The NHL's recent announcement of All-Star picks for the upcoming weekend stirred some surprises, notably with the absence of Artemi Panarin from the list. Panarin, having a stellar season with the New York Rangers, was anticipated to be the team's representative. However, it was goaltender Igor Shesterkin who got the nod.

While there's still an opportunity for fans to vote Panarin into the All-Star game, the sniper gracefully conveyed his situation. Despite his impressive performance this season, Panarin won't be participating due to expecting his second child with his wife. In a heartfelt message to Rangers fans, he expressed gratitude for their love and support and urged them to cast their votes for his teammates.

"Hi Rangers Fans. Sadly, I can't go to the All-Star game this year. My wife and I are expecting our second baby, and I can't wait for this moment. Thank you for your love and support. Please vote for my teammates."

Panarin, who played all 82 games last season with 29 goals and 92 points, is having an exceptional year with 24 goals in just 37 games, indicating one of his best seasons in the NHL.
