Sheldon Keefe left the Toronto Maple Leafs a few weeks after being sacked, and he already has a new coaching position with the New Jersey Devils.

Sheldon Keefe is not a very good NHL coach, according to the majority of Toronto Maple Leaf supporters. In his five years as the team's head coach, Keefe was unable to advance the Maple Leafs past the second round. It is hard to believe given the team's talent level, and it is obvious why he lost faith in the management.

Still, it doesn't appear that other teams stopped believing in him. Keefe signed a contract with the New Jersey Devils just a few weeks after being let go by the Maple Leafs.

Was told there is a verbal agreement in place with Sheldon Keefe again it comes down to it he wants the job. But again nothing official is official but have to expect the announcement next day or two. #njdevils    @FullPressNHL @myNHLTradeRumor

While this was just a report, today the news has been confirmed by Darren Dreger.

Good scoop. Sheldon Keefe is in fact the new head coach of the Devils

Sounds like 4 years total including the two years owed by the Leafs.
