The NHL has officially released the date & odds for 2024 draft lottery
The NHL has set the stage for the 2024 draft lottery, announcing it will take place on May 7 at the NHL Network's studio in Secaucus, New Jersey. This critical event will set the draft order for the first 16 picks of the upcoming NHL Draft, which will be held on June 28-29 at the Sphere in Las Vegas.
The NHL's draft lottery will be held May 7.
The lottery involves teams that missed out on the Stanley Cup Playoffs, as well as those that have traded for a first-round pick from another non-playoff team. Under the rules, each team has the potential to move up by as many as 10 spots, which means only the bottom 11 teams are in the running for the coveted first overall pick.
This year's draft class is headlined by Macklin Celebrini from North America and Anton Silayev from Europe, who top the NHL Central Scouting's final rankings.
Here's a look at the teams vying for the top pick in the draft lottery and their respective odds of landing it:
San Jose Sharks (18.5%)
Chicago Blackhawks (13.5%)
Anaheim Ducks (11.5%)
Columbus Blue Jackets (9.5%)
Montreal Canadiens (8.5%)
Utah (7.5%)
Ottawa Senators (6.5%)
Seattle Kraken (6.0%)
Calgary Flames (5.0%)

Buffalo Sabres (3.0%)
