has reportedly become available from the St. Louis Blues, and now fans are urging Kyle Dubas to bring the young centre to Pittsburgh as they look to build for their future after captain Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin.
The Pittsburgh Penguins are stuck right in the middle of a rebuild or pushing their chips in for a Stanley Cup run, and it appears that there are plenty of moves out there that could be made.
Now, another has potentially come along, as St. Louis Blues rising star Jordan Kyrou has reportedly become available for trade, with some urging General Manager Kyle Dubas to acquire him for added depth down the middle of their lineup, as he is locked in on a solid deal for years to come.
The 26-year old Ontario native has come into his own in recent years, as he has put up 75, 73 and 67 points over the past three seasons, with 44 in 56 games this season showing that he's capable of being a high end 2C in the NHL for years to come.
However, the wording of the report from The Fourth Period suggests that it would take a blockbuster to pry him out of St. Louis, and ultimately, that would likely mean that they would need to give up a key piece of their future, potentially even
Rutger McGroarty.
Beyond this season, Kyrou is locked down for six years with an annual cap hit of just over $8 million annually, and if he can continue producing between 65 and 85 points, he could be an asset to many teams around the league, and if Dubas believes he can be a key piece of their team moving forward, we could see a huge deal happen sometime in the near future.
