Mike Sertich, the former head coach of the University of Minnesota Duluth men's hockey program, has died at the age of 77.

Sertich was the coach of the program between 1982 and 2000. During his time with the program, he led the team to three National Titles in 1984, 1985, and even 1993. The coach had a record of 350-328-44 and even broke multiple records with the team.
Following the news of his passing, fans took to social media to describe just how amazing of a person Sertich truly was.
"Coach Sertie was a great person and always had time to chat about fishing by my hometown of Ely. I have great memories of Sertie. RIP"

"Such a legend! Condolences go out to his family & the UMD hockey family at large as Mike was quite an institution in #BulldogCountry."

"What an awesome man. Had the chance to hear him speak multiple times over the years at various hockey seminars. Looked forward to every one of them and enjoyed each one like it was the first. R.I.P. coach."

Our heart goes out to Sertich's family and the UMD community during this very difficult time. Stay tuned to Hockey Unplugged for the latest news and updates from around the hockey world.
