Brawl breaks out during Field Hockey final after goalie gets disrespected: video
Netherlands and Germany battled it out for Field Hockey supremacy on Friday in the Gold Medal game.
Unfortunately, things got heated as a Netherlands player taunted the German goalie after scoring the gold medal winning-goal. As you can see down below, the Dutch player shushes the goalie and taps him on the head. This led to a brawl that also involved the official.
Emotions were certainly running hot and it is very easy to see why. After all, anyone would be upset if this kind of thing happened to their team. Not to mention, it came during a time when there was a lot on the line.
The Dutch team will now have to reflect on this. Sure, they won the gold medal, but at what cost? Not many people will be on their side after this display of disrespect.
