Connor McDavid & Auston Matthews join forces in unlikely location

These future legends of the game currently play for Canadian teams on different sides of the country. Out East, you have Matthews and the Toronto Maple Leafs. While out West, you have McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers. However, both of them converged in Munich, Germany recently, where they were spotted training together.

German Elite League goaltender Christopher Kolarz posted a photo with Matthews and McDavid, which can be seen below. They were all training at the SAP Garden in Munich. It is unclear why they were all training together, however, it could have been a sponsorship ordeal. Either way, it must have been quite the experience for Kolarz to compete against.

Of course, some fans are going to speculate, especially since Leon Draisaitl wasn't there. Having said that, there is really nothing to read into here. Both Matthews and McDavid are locked in on their respective teams. Who knows? Maybe they will meet in the Cup Finals this year.
