Evander Kane victimized by racist incident that was entirely caught on video
Evander Kane is a player who has elicited a ton of controversy throughout his career, however, that does not mean he should be subjected to disrespect or any kind of harassment.
Unfortunately, that is what happened to the player today, as he posted a shocking video on social media. As you can see below, Kane caught the tail end of an exchange with a cyclist. However, in the caption, he reveals how this man spit on his car, and told him and Kane's friend that they didn't belong there. It seemed to be a racially motivated comment, and many on social media were absolutely by shocked by the remarks.
"This cyclist was riding his bike past my vehicle and decided to spit on it as he rode by. And then confronted him as he tried to deny the claim luckily a friend of mine in the area who was driving by, pulled over to intervene in our conversation. This gentlemen then proceeded to tell me and my friend and I quote you people don't belong here' it's incredibly disappointing. There are people still like this today."
While we have made a lot of progress as a society, there is no doubt that there are a lot of idiots out there who think that this kind of harassment is okay. Thankfully, we also live in an internet age where putting these people on front street is possible. Hopefully, the man learns his lesson and never pulls a stunt like that again.
Additionally, we hope that Kane is doing okay following the incident. No one should have to endure something like that. Additionally, stay tuned to Hockey Unplugged for the latest news and updates from around the hockey world.
