Tragic News Strikes The Hockey Community As Young Player Passes Away
Tragic news has struck the hockey community as reports confirm the passing of a 17-year-old player during a practice session in Russia. According to Sport24.ru, the heartbreaking incident occurred just minutes into the practice.
"The tragedy happened at the very beginning of training. The guys just went out on the ice, a hockey player born in 2006 shot at the goal, got in line and fell. Local forces began to provide assistance, the ambulance arrived in 4 minutes, began to do artificial ventilation, but they could not save. The whole team underwent a medical examination, everything was normal.»
Quoted from HK Bobrov, "There were no signs of trouble, there were no collisions. He just fell on the ice."
The young player, identified as Venedikt Osipov, tragically succumbed to cardiac arrest. Osipov was part of the NMHL, the second-highest tier of junior hockey in Russia.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends but also the entire hockey community during this incredibly difficult time.
