New NHL prospect rankings show just how far Shane Wright has fallen
Last summer, despite being the consensus number 1 pick, Shane Wright fell to 4th overall to the Seattle Kraken. At the time it seemed like a shock, but since Wright's draft stock has fallen off significantly. Wright's development has been stunted by lack of planning by the Kraken.
After being a healthy scratch for multiple games Wright was demoted to the OHL in December of last year. After being considered a top prospect in hockey last year, Wright has fallen significantly this season. In the recently released prospect rankings, Wright has fallen all the way out of the top 10.

Wright finds himself locked into spot 15, behind Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Matthew Knies. While Wright's career is definitely just getting going, he's certainly gotten off on the wrong foot.
