Last night, shocking news came out of the WHL as the league announced that it would be immediately suspending one of its coaches, pending the outcome of an investigation. At the time, very little details were made, outside the fact that a complaint had been filed against him. Now, new reports are emerging of details of that complaint.

According to Ryan Kennedy at the Hockey News, Kevin Constantine, Head Coach of the Wenatchee Wild, is under investigation for the alleged use of a racial slur.

"From what I'm hearing, the allegation - and right now it's still an allegation while they investigate - against Kevin Constantine involves the use of a racial slur"

For a league that just allowed Bill Peters to return to coaching, who had resigned from the Flames in 2019 following accusations of racial slurs, it's a horrible look for the WHL. Peters was named head coach of the Lethbridge Hurricanes to start the season.

There no confirmation of the context of Constantine's alleged use of slurs, whether it involve a player, staff member, or anyone else. Constantine has served as a head coach in the NHL prior to falling to the WHL, previously coaching the Penguins, Sharks, and Devils.
