Minnesota Wild prospect facing lengthy suspension for abuse of official
Sometimes a hockey player's temper can get the best of them. Usually in those moments the player can differentiate between an opponent and an official. Unfortunately for a Minnesota Wild prospect he couldn't make that distinction when it mattered most.
Vladislav Firstov, was selected in the 2nd round of the 2019 NHL Draft who is currently playing in the KHL. During a game today Firstov was skating up the ice with an opponent when he came face to face with a linesman. The two stood in front of one and other until Firstov decided to shove him out of the way. Firstov was quickly ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct, as well as yelling insults at an official.
Firstov was drafted 42nd overall by the Wild in 2019. He played nine games with the Iowa Wild over two seasons before heading back home to the KHL. It is very likely that this will result in a very lengthy suspension for the Wild prospect.
