Buffalo Sabres considered favorites to land Vegas Golden Knights goalie via trade
The Buffalo Sabres currently hold the NHL's longest playoff drought. Despite that the Sabres believe this year is the year they finally end that. After a lengthy rebuilding the team is built around tons of promising young talent, their prospect cupboards are full and the Sabres have huge expectations. This year the Sabres believe it's playoffs or bust.
The team feels they may have one hole remaining on their roster. With Devon Levi pegged as the goalie of the future, the Sabres look to be set long-term. But tossing Levi into an everyday NHL role next season could be asking for trouble.
So the Sabres have reportedly looked outside the franchise for help in goal. According to Hockey insider Eklund, the Sabres are looking at a potential trade for Logan Thompson of the Vegas Golden Knights.
If the Sabres could land Thompson a tandem of him and Devon Levi could go a very long way to ending the Sabres playoff misery.
