The AHL's Chicago Wolves and forward Connor McClennon have mutually agreed to part ways, marking his departure from the team.

The Wolves officially announced the mutual decision to release 21-year-old forward Connor McClennon from his contract.

Originally a 6th-round pick by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2020 draft, McClennon opted not to sign with the team, allowing his rights to expire. Instead, he inked an AHL deal with the Chicago Wolves.

Struggling with the team, McClennon managed just one assist in 7 games before being assigned to the Norfolk Admirals of the ECHL for a brief two-game stint. While his next move remains uncertain, his potential as a skilled professional player is evident.

Standing at 5'8", McClennon is a compact forward with offensive prowess. In his final year of juniors during the 2022-23 season, he tallied an impressive 46 goals and 92 points in 68 games with the Winnipeg Ice.

We extend our best wishes to McClennon and hope he finds success in his future endeavors, kickstarting his career elsewhere.
