NHL rosters are due tonight at 5 pm. The New York Islanders will now have to finalize their roster without Ross Johnston who they officially lost today on waivers. The Islanders waited until after the original waiver deadline to try and sneak the forward through, but were not successful. Today it was announced that the Anaheim Ducks have officially claimed Johnston.

Anaheim claims Ross Johnston off waivers from N.Y. Islanders.
Johnston has 3 years remaining on his current deal with a cap hit of 1.1 million dollars per season.
It is also being reported that the Toronto Maple Leafs will look to sneak forward Bobby McMann through waivers today. The LA Kings have also placed David Rittich on waivers, while the Tampa Bay Lightning will look to waive Alex Barré-Boulet.
The Anaheim Ducks continue to have top priority and will have first crack of claiming any of these players. The players will have until 2:00 p.m. tomorrow to clear waivers at which time they can be demoted to the AHL.
