Edmonton Oilers general manager Stan Bowman is in a bit of a pickle right now thanks to the St. Louis Blues who sent offer sheets to Philip Broberg and Dylan Holloway.

Based on reports, the Oilers are set to match the offer sent to Holloway, however, as it pertains to Broberg, they may have no choice but to let him walk.

The Oilers are currently $7.2 million over the cap and they need to let go of some players. This has led to rumors that Cody Ceci and Brett Kulak are on the trading block. However, as TSN's Bruce Garrioch reports, teams around the league are not making it easy on the Oilers. They know the team is in a desperate situation and they are taking full advantage by seeking out first-round and second-round picks. This would ultimately hamper the Oilers future as they try to win now.

This is not the situation Bowman was hoping to find himself in. But at this point, he has to live with it. Leon Draisaitl is likely to get a massive contract soon, and Connor McDavid will be getting the same. That said, it is clear that the Oilers have lot of moves left to make.
