Flyers commit a heist on the Maple Leafs and steal one of their goalies
August is beginning to heat up on the transaction front, especially as it pertains to the Philadelphia Flyers who just poached goaltender Keith Petruzzelli from the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Petruzzelli was playing for Quinnipiac University just a few years ago, however, three years ago, he made the jump to the AHL, where he has only played 47 games and has a record of 22-17-4. For now, he will remain in the AHL as it was the Lehigh Valley Phantoms who signed him to a one-year deal.
Alexei Kolosov and Cal Petersen are already on the Lehigh Valley system, so Petruzzelli will definitely have some competition. Regardless, this should prove to be a very interesting goaltending battle. We wish Petruzzelli the best of luck in his latest endeavor.
Do you believe that this is a good pick-up for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms? Let us know in the poll down below and stay tuned to Hockey Unplugged for the latest news and updates from around the hockey world.
