Leon Draisaitl contract update will leave Oilers fans frustrated
Leon Draisaitl wants a brand-new extension with the Edmonton Oilers and it could very well make him the highest-paid player in the entire NHL.
However, this is not ideal for the Oilers who will have to sign Connor McDavid soon. Recently, Oilers GM Stan Bowman spoke to the media about Draisaitl and his agent, Mike Liut. Bowman noted that they have talked, but there are no further updates. All we know is that the Oilers don't seem worried.
«I had a good conversation [with Liut] and we're starting things off and the timing on that will be what it will be,» Bowman said. «I don't have an update of where it's going to be or the timing on that, but there is nothing negative to report, certainly.»
For Oilers fans, this might be a bit frustrating. After all, you want to see your guy get a deal. Until then, fans of the team will just have to be patient. It won't be easy, but that is all they can do in this circumstance.
