According to Michael Augello of The Hockey News, the Sabres are facing a conundrum as it pertains to Peyton Krebs. He is an unsigned restricted free agent, and the team doesn't really have room for him. After taking on Ryan McLeod, Beck Malenstyn and Sam Lafferty, Krebs just isn't really a priority, especially since he only managed 17 points in 80 games last season.
Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Flyers are in a bad salary cap situation, and there are some players who could be on the trading block. One such player is none other than Joel Farabee. At $5 million AAV, he could be an easy target for a deal between the Sabres and Flyers. Not to mention, Farabee would inject some much-needed offense into the Sabres' lineup.
Krebs has been linked to the Flyers in the past, so this isn't too much of a stretch. Having said that, it will be interesting to see what both teams decide to do. If they want a deal before the start of the season, time is most certainly running out here.
Do you believe this kind of trade would make sense for both teams? Let us know in the poll down below. Additionally, stay tuned to Hockey Unplugged for the latest news and updates from around the hockey world.
