Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew Gaudreau passed away last Thursday after being hit by a drunk driver while riding bicycles.

Overall, this has left the entire hockey world in a state of shock. Johnny Hockey touched a lot of lives in the NHL world. Between the Calgary Flames and the Columbus Blue Jackets, he has remained beloved by all of his teammates.

One teammate who loved Johnny, in particular, was none other than Jaromir Jagr. Jagr's 766th and final goal in the NHL was assisted by Gaudreau. This means the two have a very special bond. On Monday, Jaromir Jagr honored that bond with a heartfelt message for Johnny, on Instagram.

"I honestly never thought I'd write a text like this to a post," Jagr wrote. "Yea that was my last NHL goal Yes, that was a pretty nice goal. Yes, it was a beautiful pass above all. Unfortunately, life can sometimes be incredibly cruel. Thank you Johnny Gaudreau for being there and giving hope to all the guys with your incredible performances that though they are not the biggest and toughest, they can succeed at the NHL world class just like you did. My condolences to the whole family. R.I.P. to you and your brother."

Since the death of Gaudreau, there has been a debate about whether or not the Calgary Flames should retire his jersey. Furthermore, some believe they should actually rename the Lady Byng trophy.
