Penguins and Team USA coach Mike Sullivan spoke today on the passing of legendary broadcaster Mike Lange, offering his deepest condolences.

Mike Sullivan started his press conference after the morning skate in advance of Thursday's 4 Nations championship by commenting on the death of Mike Lange.
"I'd like to acknowledge the legendary broadcaster Mike Lange from the Pittsburgh Penguins who passed away yesterday," Sullivan said. "Mike means a lot to the city of Pittsburgh. I know he means a lot to the players and our coaching staff in particular. Some of my greatest memories in hockey have Mike's voice accompanied with those. He certainly means the world to all of us in Pittsburgh. We wish his family thoughts and prayers. Mike will be missed in Pittsburgh."
Lange, who called close to 50 years of Penguins action as the team rose from underdog status to five-time Stanley Cup winners, was the voice of the team's most memorable moments.
His unique style and signature phrases echoed through eras that included Hall of Famer Mario Lemieux and his longtime linemate Jaromir Jagr to current stars Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin.

Mike Lange received the Foster Hewitt Award

Lange was recognized for his broadcasting efforts with the Foster Hewitt Award from the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2001.
When Pittsburgh won its second straight Stanley Cup in 1992 with a win over Chicago, Lange immortalized the occasion on the team's radio broadcast, shouting, "Lord Stanley, Lord Stanley, get me the brandy."
Rest in peace Mike, you will be terribly missed by us all in the hockey world.
