spoke to reporters ahead of the Four Nations faceoff finale this evening, revealing that he is still learning from one of his teammates even in his late 30s.
Sidney Crosby is one of the best players ever lace up the skates for an NHL game.
The 37-year-old has appeared in 1327 career regular-season NHL games, recording 609 goals and 1654 points, making him 9th all-time in scoring.
He also has numerous accolades including two Hart trophies, two Rocket Richards, three Stanley Cups, two Conn Smythes, and many more.
He also has numerous medals in international play including five golds.
Needless to say, he is a special player. And yet, today he revealed that he is still learning and trying to make himself a better player.
When speaking to reporters ahead of the Four Nations faceoff final against Team USA, Crosby revealed that he has been observing
Connor McDavid closely throughout the tournament, trying to learn tricks from him at the same time as learning who he is as a person.
"I don't know if I've really thought about it. I mean, I just look at it as a teammate and somebody that's obviously a really special, special player, and just being able to to be on the ice with someone like him, try to learn, try to see what makes him successful, but at the same time get to know him.
That's unique to playing things like this. You build as you know the time goes on, but I think it's just something that you really appreciate, you know, especially having been in different situations, played on different teams. That's just something unique."
McDavid is certainly no slouch in his own right, already piling up 357 career goals and 1053 points in just 694 games at the age of 28.
He also has three Hart trophies, five Art Rosses, a Rocket Richard, and a Conn Smythe, despite never winning a Stanley Cup.
He is universally accepted as the best player in the world, even by other superstars including Team Canada teammate
Nathan MacKinnon.
All three of Crosby, McDavid, and MacKinnon will be playing together one last time this year as they try to take down the United States in the Four Nations final.
It is truly a special occasion to get to see all three of these players on the same team, and one you will not want to miss.
