Recent Reports Suggest Brady Tkachuk Was Available for Trade
As the 2023-24 season kicked off, the Ottawa Senators were eyeing the playoffs with high hopes.
Instead, they found themselves mired in disappointment, prompting big changes including the exits of General Manager Pierre Dorion and Head Coach D.J. Smith.
Currently in seventh place in the Atlantic Division, the Senators are at a crucial crossroads, with all signs pointing to further changes, especially in the coaching staff, as they search for some much-needed stability.
The biggest shock came with reports that Ottawa might be looking to trade their captain, Brady Tkachuk.
According to Andy Strickland on the Cam and Strick podcast, the Ottawa Senators reportedly kicked tires on a Brady Tkachuk trade «just to see what they could get in return.»
Such a move could redefine the team's core, which also includes stars like Thomas Chabot and Jakob Chychrun, who might find themselves in trade talks as well.
With the offseason approaching, the Senators are poised for a critical time of reevaluation and strategy tweaks, hoping to turn things around and make a stronger showing next year.
