The NHL Officially Announces Where The 2026 All-Star Game Will Be Hosted
The NHL made a big announcement today: the 2026 All Star Game will be hosted by the New York Islanders in UBS Arena. In a surprising move, the league will skip the 2025 All Star Game and instead host the Four Nations Faceoff, an international tournament.
Work is underway to bring the All Star Game back to Alberta for the first time in over 20 years. The Calgary Flames are working on securing a new arena, part of which includes a commitment to host the All Star Game within three years of the arena's opening.
If all goes according to plan, the NHL All Star Game will return to Alberta before 2028. While it's exciting to see the game potentially return to Calgary, the Edmonton Oilers are also hoping to host.
The Oilers haven't hosted since 1989 just after Wayne Gretzky was traded, and now fans are eager to see McDavid and Draisaitl showcased on the national stage.
