Sean Higgins is the man accused of killing Johnny Gaudreau and Matthew Gaudreau in an alleged drunk driving accident.

Overall, fans are livid with Higgins, especially when you consider how selfish of an act driving under the influence is. Moreover, he didn't show much remorse in court last week, which left a lot of people with a sour taste in their mouths. Well, according to TMZ, he was back in court today, albeit briefly.
The judge was supposed to give Higgins his pretrial conditions. However, the Zoom meeting lasted just a few seconds, instead. The judge told Higgins he must remain behind bars until September 13th, which is when he will have another hearing. Only time will tell whether or not his jail stay is extended beyond that.
Higgins could face up to 20 years in prison for his alleged crimes. Each charge of death by auto comes with a sentence of between 5 to 10 years. However, it remains to be seen whether or not he will plead guilty or be convicted. Moreover, it will be up to the judge to provide the sentence.
Our heart continues to go out to the Gaudreau family during this horrific time. We wish them nothing but the best as they continue to grieve. Hopefully, their community remains behind them.
Do you believe that Higgins will get the maximum sentence of 20 years? Let us know in the poll down below and stay tuned to Hockey Unplugged for the latest news and updates from around the hockey world.
