Stanley Cup champion Ryan O'Reilly has placed his Lake Huron home on the market. If you going to purchase the NHL star's property your going to need to back up the Brinks truck. The 13-acre Goderich-area estate property has been placed on the market for a whopping $7.9M. This price is one that broker Greg Dodds says is unique to the region.
According to the listing, the six bedroom and six-bathroom lakeside mansion features «meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail» that «converge to create an unparalleled retreat,» including an entertainment room, a rooftop patio overlooking the water and private beach access among other luxuries.
Buyers will also need to factor in the estate's property tax, which will run them an enormous $36,000 a year, in addition to the expense of living.
The Colorado Avalanche selected the 33-year-old O'Reilly 33rd overall in the 2009 draft. O'Reilly made his NHL debut the same year he was selected, scoring 8 goals and amassing 26 points in 81 games. O'Reilly was traded to the Buffalo Sabres after spending six seasons in Colorado, where he would suffer three losing seasons. In the summer of 2018, he was dealt to the St. Louis Blues. O'Reilly would win the Conn Smythe Trophy and the Stanley Cup that season.
According to the website Capfriendly.com, O'Reilly, has earned US$76.7 million in his NHL career. He has two years remaining on a four-year contract he signed with the Nashville Predators, which pays an AAV of $4.5M.
