Milan Lucic entered the NHL/NHLPA assistance program after being arrested back in November on assault and battery charges.

Eventually, the charges against Lucic were dropped as his former partner decided not to testify against him. However, since that time, the consensus has been that his time in the NHL is over. After all, he is 36 years old and nowhere near as productive as he used to be.
According to Frank Seravalli, Lucic seems to see things differently. The former Boston Bruins star is currently in New Jersey, where he is training for a comeback.
Lucic will only be able to return if he is cleared to play by Gary Bettman. While Lucic has not been suspended by the NHL, he is in the assistance program, which always requires clearance before exiting. Only time will tell if there is a team out there who will take Lucic in his current state.
